1.What these terms cover
The published engine, the command-line tools and the country data files — nothing else. No account, no subscription and no support commitment is created by downloading them.
2.Licenses — the part that actually binds
The code is released under the Apache License 2.0; its text travels with the source and governs your use of it.
The data files are derived from third-party sources under their own licenses — among them ODbL, CDLA-Permissive-2.0, CC BY 4.0 and Licence Ouverte. Those licenses, not this page, decide what you may do with the data, and several of them require attribution when you redistribute or publish results. The full list of sources and the exact notices are in ATTRIBUTIONS.md, which ships with every release. Read it before you redistribute anything.
3.Provided as is
The software and the data are provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Geocoding results are approximations derived from public datasets: they can be wrong, out of date, or missing entirely for a given address. Do not use them where an error would put people, property or legal rights at risk without independent verification.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we accept no liability for any loss arising from use of the software or the data. Where your local law grants you rights that cannot be waived, those rights are unaffected.
4.No promise of updates
A published data file is a static build. It is not a service, and no schedule, refresh cadence or continued availability is promised. Keep a copy of what you rely on.
5.Paid plans
Paid plans are not open. Any prices shown elsewhere on this site describe what is planned, are not binding, and may change or not happen at all. When paid plans open, they will come with their own terms, published before anything is sold.
6.Changes
These terms may be updated; the version on this page at the time of your download is the one that applies to it.
