Offline reverse geocoding to street level

Coordinates in, the nearest address out: street, house number, municipality and how far it is. Offline, from a local country file.

Python

reverse.pyPython
import gridpin
from gridpin_mcp import sheets

g = gridpin.Geocoder(str(sheets.download("rs")))
g.reverse(44.8176, 20.4569, 1)
# -> house, Đure Jakšića 3, Stari Grad, distance_m 24.8
terminalCLI
$ gridpin reverse serbia.bin 44.8176 20.4569

Reverse results are approximate: streets are indexed by their centroid, so every answer carries distance_m. Check it before you treat the answer as the building at that point.

Coverage

Seven countries: Brazil, France, Germany (without Bavaria), Italy, Netherlands, Serbia and Spain. Outside them, a city-level library such as reverse_geocoder is the simpler choice.
